So tomorrow I begin my first day of my classroom observations in Harper Woods High School, and I begin tutoring at Madison High School. I'm thrilled to say the least. It's so rewarding to feel as if all this education is finally paying off. Even if it does feel as though I'm being thrusted into the world of education at 100 mph. It's good fun.

Also, I'm moving out come October 24th! Who would believe this day would come?! I'm moving in with the greatest roommate ever...my best friend, my boyfriend:)

Life is falling into place, and it's such a feeling. My heart is overwhelmed with joy.

p.s- I'm so excited for the holidays as well!

The Burial of the Dead

I've always been a fan of T.S Eliot...well not always but since 10th grade (which seems forever ago). Now that I'm older it's really interesting to see what Eliot is saying between the lines. For example:

April is the cruellest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.
Winter kept us warm, covering
Earth in forgetful snow, feeding
A little life with dried tubers.

I never would have thought these lines would begin a poem about the reconstruction of Europe after WWI. Plus-what beautiful imagery.

Now I just have to devote the rest of the semester writing a paper on "The Waste Land".

For now I am only dreaming of summer in Italia, long midnight drives, and picnics in the middle of nowhere. My mind is not at all focused on the rest of Winter semester.

I learned how to play "hotel yorba" and "I think I smell a rat" on guitar today:)
And I started reading this morning.
Today was refreshing I suppose.

I guess my boss signed me up for this ACO event. I get to learn how to put a toilet together and wire a house, etc. It's seriously going to be sweeeet. Plus I get paid for it, a free lunch and possibly a bonus:D

And I think I'm going to drop one of my classes for this fall. I don't want to overwhelm myself too soon. Jenny from work says that 16 credits is alot for a commuter, so I think I'm going to take her advice. Maybe second semester I'll pack on the credits once I'm adjusted.
